In case you have been living under a rock, or you don’t read my blog regularly (same thing, right?), then you may not know that one of my older brothers is getting married. See big bro below (and then try saying that five times fast):
My brother, Nate, and soon-to-be sister-in-law, Sam, both love the outdoors and living close to the beach, so they decided to do their engagement shoot in and around Redondo Beach (where they live) and Palos Verdes (where they got engaged and are getting married).
We started pretty early in the morning at the first spot – a grungy empty lot with an awesome surf mural painted on one wall. It was still a little overcast when we started, which gave us great lighting (no harsh shadows). Because Nate and Sam are both super fun and athletic, they chose some really fun props – including surf boards, skate boards and homemade signs – and we got started with the fun!
We had so much fun (can you tell yet??), but of course we also had to get some of the romantic poses. They are getting married, after all. ;)
Next, we picked up Marley (the pup), hit up a few more locations, had a few more outfit changes and had a lot more fun!
Our last stop of the day was the beach. Luckily, we were able to time it right so that we ended up on the sand in time to take photos during “magic hour” – or sunset – when the lighting is absolutely beautiful. It was a little overcast, but I think the clouds made the setting look all the more romantic. And, naturally, my brother had to surf. In a suit shirt and tie. :)
I hope you enjoyed this little snippet of the photo session I shot with my brother and his fiancé for their engagement. I had such a fun time taking their pictures, they are such a blast and I know they will spend their life together having amazing and fun adventures! Congrats, Nate & Sam – I can’t wait for the wedding!
Thanks for reading :)
