Although the weather isn’t quite changing yet, the sun is starting to set earlier and earlier and it’s only a matter of time before we can actually wear those sweaters that are filling up the stores’ racks. With this in mind, I am sharing one of my favorite makeup looks that wears great from Summer to Fall.
I am wearing warm tones of cream, shimmery golden bronze and burgundy with a warm brown eyeliner. Here’s the makeup I used:
1. “Blanc Type” matte shadow from MAC, 2. “Blaze” shadow from Urban Decay, 3. “Twinks” veluxe pearl shadow from MAC, 4. “Brown Topaz” intense i-color eyeliner from Almay.
The warm shimmery golden bronze shadow that covers most of the lid is the perfect summery shade, while the deep burgundy in the creases adds depth and is a great color to carry this look into Fall.
While there are probably a million ways to apply eye shadow to the lid, I love using the three-color scheme of base, highlight and depth in the following manner:
1. First I apply the highlight color under the brow and on the inside corner of my eye – in this case the cream color from MAC.
2. Next, I apply the base color all over the rest of my lid – the golden bronze from Urban Decay.
3. I finish the look by blending a darker color into the creases of my lids to add depth and dimension to the look – the burgundy shade from MAC.
I often put eyeliner on first so that layering the shadow on top softens a harsh line, but it all depends on what look I’m going for or if I want a bold line or not. I always use a blending brush, however, to blend all the shadows and then finish with mascara.
I love how the warm colors complement my brown eyes, but I think these colors would look great with any eye color. What do you think?
