Hello, friends! It has been a super busy, but super fun weekend for me, full of friends, family and celebrations! Today is my birthday so this weekend I was able to hang out with a couple of my girlfriends on Saturday night and then yesterday the family had a combined Mother’s Day / Birthday BBQ at my sister’s house. I am so lucky to have so many wonderful people in my life who care about me – it is still early in the morning and already I have been overcome by phone calls and messages wishing me a happy birthday, so a quick thank you to everyone!!!
Now on the really fun part of birthdays – getting to dress up in fun outfits! Since I was way too busy having fun with my friends on Saturday night, I will just share a quick Instagram shot of the three of us:
I am wearing a blush peach/pink lace dress which I paired with some casual accessories to dress it down a bit including a denim jacket and blue sandals. I know, I know, you can’t really see my outfit, I am a terribly irresponsible blogger, but it was definitely cute enough to recreate so hopefully I can wear it again soon and share responsibly! (ps. Aren’t my friends just the two cutest darlings you’ve ever seen??)
I did, however, manage to snag my brother into snapping some photos of my outfit yesterday!
I am wearing a green and white multi-dot print dress (Gap) which I paired with my favorite bright blue bow sandals (Abercrombie & Fitch via Marshall’s) and accessorized with my rose gold watch (Target), a mint braided suede bracelet (handmade), my favorite vintage cocktail ring (Etsy) and a simple white hair clip (H&M).
I actually just recently bought this dress when I was on a shopping trip with one of my friends. I don’t head into Gap much these days, I feel like it’s a little (a lot) overpriced, but my friend was looking for a dress for a particular occasion and when I saw this dress on clearance with extra % off, I couldn’t resist trying it on. It was so cute, in fact, that my friend tried it on, too, and – spoiler alert – she bought it, too, and wore it to the party! But can you blame us?? The colors are so fun and perfect for spring and the fit is that great universally flattering shape with a fitted waist band and a floaty, a-line skirt! I also love that it can be easily dressed up with the right accessories or left more simple and casual (as I did for yesterday’s bbq).
Today I am excited to simply take the day off and spend it with the Boyfriend. I am not sure what’s on the agenda yet, probably a little shopping, a nice meal and maybe even a movie. Either way, I have already had an amazing birthday so everything else is just icing and sprinkles and a cherry on top! Thanks for reading :)
