Hello, friends! Things have been a little hectic lately, but they are finally calming down and I am trying to get back to some kind of normal routine (at least, normal for me ha!). In the spirit of hitting the reset button, I decided to share an outfit that will probably look somewhat familiar, mostly because it’s one of my go-to outfits when I want to be casual, comfortable, but still feel like I am lookin’ good.
I am wearing a yellow and white baseball tee (Old Navy) front-tucked into a pair of dark skinny jeans (American Eagle) with a brown leather belt (AE, old). I paired this outfit with my lilac Converse tennis shoes (Ross) and decided to keep it simple with only my everyday stud earrings for accessories.
Jeans are probably my all time favorite article of clothing – dressed up or dressed down, dark, light, ripped or clean, with heels, boots, tennis shoes or sandals – they always make an outfit. This particular pair is new, to replace an older pair of dark skinnies that are a little worse for their wear, but I got them on super sale at American Eagle. They are currently having a denim sale – all their jeans are under $30 – plus, I had an extra percent-off coupon for being a rewards member so I got my jeans for only $26 (after tax)!
This is clearly my standard outfit: jeans, a t-shirt, and, most likely, a pair of tennis shoes. I could list all the links or you could browse through my archives, but if you’ve followed my blog at all, I’m sure you’ve seen this plenty of times before. BUT that’s the best part about this little equation – you can quickly and easily change it up to create a whole new look! This pair of jeans is darker and therefore slightly dressier, so I could have easily changed up the accessories for something nicer and shinier and added a pair of heels and – voila! – a totally different outfit. Similarly, I could have worn a pair of light, ripped up jeans and a baseball cap and gone for a more masculine look – again, totally different. You get the point: same formula, but different results based on simply changing up the variables! (wow, sorry for going all nerdy on you there)
I had some fun playing around with poses today, I hope you guys like it! I am always looking at other bloggers (including all of you!) for inspiration and I have been trying to change things up a bit to keep my blog fresh. I am also getting a new tripod soon – hurray! – so that I can use my more professional camera to take my outfit photos. Hmmm, perhaps I’ll even do a photography post and share my tools & methods… What you think?! I welcome any and all feedback so please feel free to share your thoughts with me – emails and comments alike are always appreciated!!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! As always, thanks for reading :) Kristi
