Hello, friends, Happy Hump Day! (Have you seen the insurance commercial with the camel who’s all stoked because it’s Wednesday?? Cracks me up every time! Anyway….) Today’s outfit is all about mixing neutrals and, as the title suggests, mixed metals. I have been a little stuck lately on what to wear because the weather is starting to transition to fall, which means chilly mornings and warm afternoons. Layers have been key, but still, I have been lacking inspiration; so, I decided to take it back to the basics and play with a neutrals-only palette.
I am wearing a black cami tank top (Old Navy, old) tucked into a pair of gray super skinny jeans (Old Navy) and belted at the waist with a braided tan leather belt (??). I paired this outfit with some of my favorite woven tan leather flats (vintage Frye, thrifted) and accessorized with my new mixed metal triple heart necklace (American Eagle), matte gold circle stud earrings (American Eagle) and favorite rose gold watch (Target).
I have been looking for more rose gold accessories to add to my collection because I absolutely love my rose gold watch, but unfortunately, that has been easier said than done. That’s why I was over the moon excited when I found this adorable mixed metal necklace at American Eagle on super clearance – I got it for $6! In fact, I don’t think they even have it for sale anymore, everyone snatched it up. It is basically a short adjustable silver chain with three little hearts hanging on it, one in gold, one in silver and one in rose gold. It’s a little hard to see in the pictures, so here’s the photo from AE’s website:
I decided this was the perfect necklace to wear with my mixed neutral palette – all silver, gold and rose gold accessories with my black, gray and tan ensemble. I feel like this outfit is the perfect mix of fall and summer with the tank top and open-weave flats holding on to the summer heat while the gray jeans and darker color scheme hint at the approaching fall chill. Plus, it’s always fun to mix metals, don’t you think??
I hope you are having a fabulous week, thanks for reading! :), Kristi
