Black Skinnies & Vintage

August 26, 2013

Hello, friends!  You may remember last week’s post “Fall Wish List {For Less}” in which I detailed some of the trends I am interested in sporting this fall.  Well, top of my list was a pair of black skinny jeans which I had just found at Old Navy (for $15!) – link here – and which I just could not wait any longer to wear!  So, here they are, my new black skinny jeans styled with one of my favorite vintage check shirts:

I am wearing a vintage multicolored check shirt (thrifted) which I front-tucked into a pair of black skinny jeans (Old Navy) and belted at the waist with a tan leather belt (American Eagle, old).  I paired this outfit with my bright blue bow detail sandals (Abercrombie & Fitch via Marshall’s) and accessorized with a pair of gold and neon pink stud earrings (American Eagle) and a brass colored chain bracelet (handmade).

I can already tell that I am going to be wearing these black jeans constantly this fall and winter.  I just love the way the bright colors in my shirt and sandals stand out against the dark black denim and how they add so much style to such a simple outfit.  I am already planning all of they various button-front shirts, blouses, tunics and sweaters I can layer over these jeans.  The only problem I’ve found with them so far, however, is that black pants and a white dog do not mix… oops!  Oh well, I’ll just have to keep them in my drawer until I am absolutely ready to leave the house haha!  That, or just use a lint roller like a normal person.  ;)

Well, I am off for a day of appointments, chores and hopefully some more work on my quilt this afternoon.  Have a great Monday and a fabulous week!  Thanks for reading :)
