Hello, friends! It’s done, I finally finished sewing my first quilt and I have to say, I think it came out pretty good. Obviously, I am very critical of my own work and therefore the close-ups are limited because I hate showing mismatched points and crooked seams, but just know they are there… But on to the celebration!

I absolutely love the colors of this quilt and it is the perfect lap / throw blanket size. I am really happy with the appliques and the star design in the center is probably my favorite feature. The only drawback: I am now addicted to quilting and am already planning my next quilt. If I can manage it, I would love to make a full size quilt for my bed for winter in pretty earth tones, but that will have to wait for another post…

The front is made with all quilting cotton in various coordinating shades, the center – or batting – is 100% organic cotton and the backing is a super soft pretty beige and white striped thermal material (probably my favorite material on the planet). It’s hard to see the subtle stripe in the pictures, but it’s pretty and so soft.

I am also currently in the process of redesigning my room so that I can incorporate a bigger work space for sewing and crafting. While I am working out a design for a large work table, I found the perfect new bedding including the prettiest blue jersey sheets (I am into soft materials and it just doesn’t get any better than jersey sheets) and a beige and white duvet cover that has stripes on one side and checks on the other!

Sheets from Target (here) // Duvet cover from Ikea (here)
I am so excited to redo my room, I cannot wait to show you the results… once I finish it, of course! ;) In the meantime, at least I finished my quilt and I got to show you my pretty new bedding.
As always, thanks for reading! :) Kristi
