Hello, friends! At last, a real rainy day – hurray! I have always loved the rain, whether I’m out splashing in puddles or tucked inside snuggling up and reading a good book, there is just something magical about the rain. This morning, I found a new reason to love the rain even more – rainy weather fashion! ;)
I found these gorgeous (and amazingly soft and comfortable) leggings several weeks ago and I have been waiting and waiting for the perfect weather to bust them out. As soon as I saw the forecast for rain, I knew this was my chance (we don’t get a ton of rain in Southern California – probably why I still love it)!
I am wearing a marl gray t-shirt dress (H&M) over a pair of black and cream Aztec-print leggings (Poetry via Ross) with a black fleece motorcycle style jacket (Forever 21, old). I paired this outfit with my black moto boots (Roxy via DSW) and accessorized with a chunky knit cowl scarf (Forever 21), silver rose stud earrings (??) and an agate anchor necklace (gift).
I have to admit that I was a little worried that I wouldn’t be warm enough in this outfit. The dress is a thin t-shirt material and the leggings, while warm, are also very thin; but, this scarf is so thick and cozy it really kept me entirely warm. In fact, I was so warm that I was super bummed when it started raining right after I got back in my car after I finished the photo shoot. All I was asking for was a light sprinkle, really, but of course it didn’t start until I was safely installed back in my vehicle. Oh well, such is life, right?
I also accidentally broke my anchor necklace promptly after taking the last photo. I’m not even sure how it happened, but don’t worry, I’m confident I can fix it. Oddly enough, this necklace was given to me just yesterday by an, uh, interesting old man I met at a Halloween dog parade. I was there supporting Pet World Insider and when we gave the man a free book, he gave us necklaces! So sweet and I really love the simple anchor pendant.
Anyway, I am really enjoying this weather and the chance to cozy up with a good book and some hot tea. What are your favorite activities when the weather turns chilly?
As always, thanks for reading :), Kristi
