Hello, friends! I know, I know, Halloween was last week, but things have been a wee bit crazy for me this weekend (I worked late both Saturday and Sunday) so I am just now catching up from last week. Anyway, I wanted to share some photos of what I wore on Halloween to take my favorite little girl trick-or-treating (I made her Halloween costume – butterfly wings!) and, of course, Ruby in her costume!

First things first, I am wearing a basic gray long sleeve shirt (??, super old) with a green plaid flannel skirt (handmade by me), black leggings (H&M) and a denim jacket (H&M). I paired this outfit with my new favorite booties (Diba via DSW) and the most comfortable boot socks in the entire world, literally called “butter soft” (from Walmart). I accessorized with simple black stud earrings (H&M) and, to top it all off, a gorgeous knit pumpkin hat (handmade by my grandma).

Okay, now on to the pictures I’m sure you all really want to see: Ruby in her Halloween costume! (For those of you who don’t know, Ruby is the darling little girl who I babysit and I made her Halloween costume this year – butterfly wings!)

Ruby is wearing a plain long sleeve black shirt (Hanes via Walmart) with black leggings (Target) and a turquoise blue tulle tutu skirt (Target). She paired this outfit with pink suede leather fringe boots (Minnetonka for girls) and accessorized with a warm black knit hat & gloves (set, from Walmart), glittery flower hair clips, one in each braid (?? ), and a purple jack-o-lantern candy bucket (Walmart). Her butterfly wings and butterfly antenna headband were handmade by me. :)

We’re still working on actually looking at the camera and smiling, but either way, I think she looks pretty darn adorable and her costume was a hit on Halloween night. Everyone gushed over how cute Ruby looked and she had a great time trick-or-treating! I am so lucky that I get to be a part of her life and it was so nice of her parents to invite me to go trick-or-treating with them! :)
Well, I think I am all caught up from Halloween; I hope you all had a great weekend and a great week ahead of you! (PS. Is anyone else inexplicably exhausted from the time change??) As always, thanks for reading :), Kristi

November 4, 2013 at 11:56 amAw thank you!!! And I will definitely pass the message on to my grandma! We’ve been telling her for years that she could sell all of the beautiful things she makes, but (lucky for us) she just likes to make things for family & friends. :)
