Hello, friends! I was actually “tagged” to do this post a while ago by rubyangel711 (read her tag here (and check out her blog, which is awesome!)), but since it has hardly felt like winter in Southern California, I decided to hold off on this post until the weather cooled down. Unfortunately, it still feels like summer back home, so I am posting from Spanish Fork, Utah, where it is nice and chilly. Because I waited so long to respond to this tag, however, I changed a few of the questions a bit to reflect the fact that Christmas was almost a month ago haha! (PS. Here’s a sneak peek at the beautiful Utah!)
1) Favorite Winter Nail Polish?
I usually gravitate towards darker colors during winter, but this season, my nails have either been entirely bare, or nearly bare with my newest favorite nude shade: “Nude Now” by Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure (#230).
2) Favorite Winter lip product?
Since I don’t wear lipstick, but I do have very dry skin and lips, I am never far away from my Burt’s Bees chapstick. This season, however, I discovered a new favorite Burt’s Bees product, their tinted chapstick in “Hibiscus,” which has a rich, creamy texture and a beautiful, subtle pink hue.
3) Most worn Winter clothing piece?
Hm, this one is harder because it hasn’t really gotten cold in Orange County, but I think I’ve actually gotten the most wear out of my recent (and newest favorite) thrift find: my J. Crew plaid shirtdress for only $3!
4) Most worn winter accessory?
This one is easy, the new turquoise stud earrings that were a Christmas gift from one of my best friends (and current hostess in Utah), Ashley. I’ve already worn them in several blog posts; here’s my favorite example.
5) Favorite winter scent/candle?
During my trip to Hawaii this past July, I stumbled upon a local company, called Filthy Farmgirl, that makes natural soaps and I couldn’t help purchasing a few small sample bars. I am down to my last bar of soap, but my favorite scent hands down has been “Filthy Yogi.” Spicy and sweet, almost like a chai tea with extra cinnamon, this scent lingered on my skin and kept me surreptitiously sniffing all day long! ;)
6) Favorite Winter beverage?
I am not one for fancy coffee drinks and it has been so dry here this winter that this answer is a little boring, but I have been drinking hardly anything other than water. What can I say, it’s good for you.
7) All time favorite Christmas/Holiday movie?
I actually posted a list of my favorite Christmas/Holiday movies on my blog last year, but don’t worry if you missed, you can check it out here! And just in case, my top three are White Christmas, The Shop Around the Corner and Love, Actually.
8) Favorite Christmas/Holiday song?
I love listening to Christmas music (starting embarrassingly early, like way before Thanksgiving), but my favorite holiday album is easily “A Very She & Him Christmas.” Of course, I love all the old classics by everyone’s favorite crooners, but Zooey Deschanel’s voice gets me every time!
9) Favorite Holiday food/treat?
Everything! I love all of the yummt foods around the holidays, but I have a a major sweet tooth, so Christmas cookies might be my favorite. Sorry, Santa, they’re mine!!
10) What is your favorite Christmas/Holiday gift you received this year?
While I was given some really great present by various friends and family this year, the best gift of all was my two precious twin nephews, Nash and Ace. :)
11) What was your favorite activity from the holidays this year?
Our usual Christmas plans were, ahem, slightly interrupted by the arrival of my two nephews on Christmas Eve, but I always love when all of my brothers and sisters and their significant others come over on Christmas morning for a big breakfast and to exchange stocking stuffers. This year, visiting my sister and the new babies at the hospital afterwards only made it better!!

Sadly, my short vacation here in Utah is almost over and I fly back home tonight. I had such a great time and I will be sure to share some photos of the beautiful snowy mountains. Sigh, I am going to miss the cold weather, but of course I also miss my pets and my bed and I guess it will be nice to see The Boyfriend again. ;)
What are your favorite things during the winter season?? As always, thanks for reading :), Kristi
