Bommer Canyon Hike

April 15, 2014

Hello, friends!  Today’s post is up a little later than usual because I went on a hike this morning with my mom.  We have been having the most gorgeous weather lately, hot with a lovely cool breeze, my favorite California weather!  Since my mom and I are both on spring break this week (I just happened to have this week off work, except Friday morning), we decided to turn it into a bit of a stay-cation.  To start off, we went for a hike this morning on the Bommer Canyon trails in Irvine.

It was a great hike, not too strenuous but still a good workout, as you can probably tell from our “victory selfie” at the top of the ridge.  Plus, there was this cool area that included some vintage equipment and original fences from the old cattle farm that operated out of this valley.  There were meadows, grasses, cacti, scrub brush and a nice, steep incline, too.  Oh, and did you catch the little cottontail bunny hiding in the undergrowth (in picture 4)??

I hope you’re having a fabulous week, and, as always, thanks for reading!  – Kristi :)
