Hello, friends! I don’t know about you, but I have been one busy little bee. I am proud of myself, however, for making time to get in a little sewing AND a new video! That’s right, I have a brand-spankin’ new, hot off the press, fantabulous DIY refashion tutorial video just for you!

Here’s the gist: I thrifted this amazing dress several weeks ago, knowing that it had oh so much potential to be something great. Then, I noticed the stain (luckily it was already 50% off for only $4.50); so, I decided to turn it into a fun, twirly-whirly skirt. And since making elastic-waist skirts is one of my favorite refashions (because it’s just too easy), I decided to make a little video, too – check it out!
Lucky for me, this dress already had a built in “skirt,” so a lot of the work was done for me. Plus, when I separated the top half of the dress from the bottom half, I realized that it was already a perfect length, so I didn’t need to do any hemming, either. I do plan on doing more refashion tutorials, however, so I would definitely like to cover those topics.

I will admit that I am a major perfectionist, especially when it comes to video (I have a degree in Film, hello!), so I do think this video could be way better. But, I am still super excited to be sharing my first DIY/tutorial, and it really just makes me even more motivated to keep creating videos because I know I can do better!

I am also excited to be sharing this me-made (or refashioned) skirt for this week’s Me-Made-May contribution. Despite only posting one item per week, this challenge has already motivated me to do more sewing. I absolutely love sewing so it has been really fun to get inspired and make sewing a priority again.

I hope you enjoyed my first DIY video, and, as always, thanks for reading – and watching! – Kristi :)
