Hello, friends, and Happy Thrift Style Thursday! Today’s theme is “Hip Headgear,” and I couldn’t be more excited to share my first ever thrifted hat!
I will readily admit that I am one of those people who loves hats, but seldom wears them. I only own a handful of hats for that very reason, which is why I was super excited when I found this adorable woven cloche hat at my newest favorite consignment store, Crossroads Trading Co. My mom and I took in a ton of clothes that we cleaned out of our closets and ended up with over $100 of store credit, so we set to work shopping and came away with some great pieces, including this cute n’ quirky top from a previous TST post, and of course, my new, never-worn, with-the-tags-still-on-it, hat.
I love the super cute, big ‘ole bow on the back of the hat; it adds a really fun touch to an otherwise pretty plain cloche. While styling this outfit, I also realized that this fun mustache necklace (a gift from my niece – thank you, Makayla!!), matched the vintage style of the hat perfectly. Something about cloche hats and mustaches just works, you know what I mean? ;)
As for the top, I am officially obsessed with all things white, eyelet and lace for this summer. I got this pretty, breezy crop top at American Eagle for only $9 when all their clearance items were an additional 70% off a couple weeks ago. The skirt is one I’ve had in my closet for years and years, but the basic black and white pattern never go out of style, and I love the hint of lace trim that peeks out at the hem. The shoes are another new addition. I love my knock-off Keds from Payless, so I just couldn’t help but bring these pretty coral eyelet tennies home with me.
The details: white eyelet crop top (American Eagle) // pattern skirt (Forever 21, old) // cloche straw hat (thrifted, Crossroads Trading Co.) // coral eyelet tennis shoes (Payless) // mustache necklace (gift) // coral braided leather bracelet (H&M)
So, are you a wearer of hats? Do you have a teeming collection of fedoras, boaters, bowlers, bonnets and sombreros, or are you more of a one-hat wonder?? As always, thanks for reading and don’t forget to vote for next month’s theme over at Sheri’s “Gone Thrifting” page! Here’s the rest of the fantastic Thrift Style Thursday crew:
