An eShakti Holiday

November 17, 2014

Hello, friends!  Are you ready for the holidays?  No??  Me either!!  Is it just me or is the month of November flying by?!  I am seriously just getting used to the fact that it IS November, and the month is already half over, and Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK!  What?!

That being said, I am looking forward to all of my favorite Thanksgiving dishes and all of the festivities of the fast-approaching holiday season!  And, thanks to eShakti, I already have my dress for Thanksgiving dinner ready to go!

By now I am sure you have heard all about eShakti.com, but just in case you’ve been living under a rock, they are a fantastic women’s clothing website that offers custom design details on all of their garments, as well as custom fitting to your personal measurements!

As you can imagine, when eShakti contacted me to review a garment of my choosing, I jumped at the chance!  A completely free, completely customized dress??  Don’t mind if I do!  The hardest part for me was actually deciding on just one of their beautiful dresses.  Ultimately, I went for a very classic ditsy floral print with contrasting piping trim and a full, box pleat skirt – and I love it!

I was especially excited at the chance to try a custom-made garment because, while my shape fits into most dresses pretty easily, I do have particularly broad shoulders, which means dresses with fitted sleeves are almost impossible for me to wear without some stretching or pulling across the bodice.  This dress is sold sleeveless, but thanks to the customizing options, I was able to add little cap sleeves.  I think it looks darling, and it makes me even happier that the shoulders and bodice fit perfectly!

Also, ordering and customizing garments is a breeze on eShakti, with illustrated options for choosing the skirt length, sleeve length and even the neckline shape!  For sizing, you can choose from their standard fit options, or simply opt for a custom size and input all of your measurement right there on the same page.  Check out the screenshot I put together below:

As you can see, I was able to put in all of my measurements, choose the cap sleeve style I wanted and the above-knee length, which is great because longer dresses are not as flattering to my proportions.  The other great thing about eShakti’s dresses is that they come with pockets (who doesn’t love a dress with pockets??) AND most of their dresses have those handy little bra strap keeps inside the shoulders!

I decided to play up the retro femininity of the dress by styling it with vintage jewelry and a pair of nude, kitten heel sling-backs that I borrowed from my mom (they have little bows on the back, how cute is that?!).

The details: dress (c/o eShakti) // kitten heel pumps (borrowed) // vintage owl earrings (blogger swap gift) // vintage pearl gold heart necklace (gift) // vintage gold watch (gift)

I love my eShakti dress so much that I may have already ordered a tunic top and another dress, both of which I cannot wait to share.  Their prices are pretty reasonable considering the fact that they offer so many customizing options, and they are almost always running some kind of sale or special; in fact, right now they’re having a 40% off sale site-wide!

I did some browsing through the site while putting this post together (shoppers anonymous, anyone??) and pretty much fell in love with all of their holiday dresses and skirts.  Here are my favorites: (you’re welcome)

1. “Metal zip back floral velvet dress” // 2. “Illusion deer embellished tulle dress” // 3. “Sydney dress” // 4. “Lynette dress

That floral velvet dress is just too spectacular for words!  Oh, and an embroidered deer?  Yes, please!  The black tulle midi dress is classic and would be so easy to style for so many different occasions, and the rich red velvet with the beautiful pattern top would make a stunning statement.  And there’s so much more – from dresses to skirts to tops and jackets – I can’t handle it, you guys!

Which holiday dress is your favorite?  Do you know what you’re wearing this holiday season??

As always, thanks for reading!  Love & holiday dresses, Kristi ;)
