The holidays are in full swing and I have been getting in as much fun and festivities as I possibly can. Starting last Thursday night, Derek, my mom and I went to one of our local neighborhoods to see their Christmas lights. Several of the streets do the lights up pretty big, and it’s fun to walk around and share in the holiday cheer.
I love strolling or driving through neighborhoods that get into the spirit and deck their houses with tons of lights. It’s so festive and pretty!
On Friday night, I went over to Derek’s so we could give his parents their Christmas gift early, and then we spent the rest of the night making FIVE huge batches of homemade chex mix – yum!
The chex mix came out pretty delicious, and I was able to fill up a bunch of mason jars, wrap them with bows, and give them to friends and family as gifts. (Don’t worry, I kept some for myself, too!)
I also took some fun outfit photos on Thursday night while walking through the neighborhood to see the lights. It was a little difficult at first to get the settings on the camera just right so you could see me and the lights, but Derek figured it out eventually. Thanks, Derek! ;)
It was pretty chilly out, but luckily I had my handmade blanket scarf to keep me warm! Although, I was cracking up at all of the “snow” on the ground. I had to make sure to get a picture to share with all of my friends in the Midwest and Northeast!
The details: plaid blanket scarf (handmade) // burgubdy sweatshirt tunic (H&M) // skinny jeans (Old Navy) // leather booties (Nordstrom Rack)
Don’t forget that there’s still time to enter my Blanket Scarf Giveaway! I’m giving away two handmade blanket scarves – one for you and one for a friend. I’m announcing the winner on Christmas Eve, so be sure to enter soon if you haven’t already!!
Oh, and here’s my mom photo-bombing my picture – this house was playing music as well and she just couldn’t help herself from jumping in! ;)
Tonight I’m heading out to see some more lights on a boat tour in the Huntington Harbor. It’s a pretty big deal because all of the houses on the water decorate their homes and boats with lights. It should be lots of fun, but I’m fighting a cold so I’ll be sure to bundle up.
Are there any fun Christmas lights in your area? Or any other holiday festivities that you look forward to every year??
As always, thanks for reading! :)
