Summer has officially begun, and to kick things off, Beth of Bethie the Boo has chosen this week’s theme – “Sunshine on your Shoulder!” Of course, I didn’t read the description, which challenged us to wear bright, sunny yellows and oranges, and instead I took it literally to mean bare shoulders. Luckily, I also wore some thrifted floral jeans which I think fit the bill well enough.
I chose this fun thrifted open-back denim top with a pair of thrifted light floral jeans and a mix of vintage and handmade accessories. The brown leather belt and shoes also help ground this look and separate the denim-on-denim. And, of course, what’s a sunny summer outfit without a pair of sunglasses?!
The details: open-back top (thrifted) // floral jeans (thrifted) // leather sandals (Kork-Ease via Nordstrom Rack) // leather belt (AE, old) // sunglasses (Target) // gold bangle (gift, vintage) // bead bracelet (gift) // stone ring (handmade) // white ring (vintage)
Well, is my look sunny enough for this week’s theme? What’s your favorite way to wear denim in summer??
Don’t forget to check out the rest of the Thrift Style Thursday crew, including Alison of Nouveau North Westerners, to see what they thrifted for our first look of the summer!
