Girls’ Night Out | Thrift Style Thursday

July 16, 2015

It’s ladies night for this week’s Thrift Style Thursday with the theme chosen by yours truly!

You see, I have a bit of a bad habit thrifting way more dresses than I could possibly wear, so I’ve decided to turn over a new leaf and only buy pieces that are more versatile – thrifted or otherwise.  To me, that means dresses that can be worn on multiple occasions, like my dress for today’s outfit, which can easily transition from day to night, or from the office to a girls night out!

I like to keep my “girl’s night” looks pretty simple and more playul / fun than dressy.  I actually wore this outfit to go out for a pho dinner with one of my best friends (they opened a new pho restaurant by my house, but apparently they’re closed Wednesday nights so we had to go to our old stand-by pho place).

The details: black & white stripe dress (thrifted) // black sparkly sandals (Marshall’s) // necklaces (borrowed from Mom) // druzy bracelet (WalMart) // silver bracelet (gift) // silver ring (hand-me-down) // silver headband (gift) // black stud earrings (H&M)

I had so much fun adding all of the sparkly, glittery details to this simple dress to make it less business and more fun!  I could also see this dress being even more dressed up with some heels, a fancy clutch purse and a nice sweater.

What do you like to wear for a night out with your girlfriends?  Do you prefer to get all dressed up or keep it simple??

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the Thrift Style Thursday crew – and new member Alison of Nouveau North Westerners – to see what looks they’re styling girls’ night!

Thanks for reading!

All the black and silver details are just perfect for this dress. So simple, classic, and chic. But I can also see adding a fun, brightly colored belt and accessories for a completely different look. What a versatile dress!

Thanks, Carissa!! I really had fun with the black and silver color palette, it’s different for me since I typically go for bright colors. I totally think you’re right, though, adding colorful accessories would make for a fun and different look for this dress – I’ll have to try that next time I wear it!! :)

Such a cute look – the sparkles really are a perfect addition. I miss TST, I will be rejoining soon, life has just been a little hectic lately! Hope all is well!

Cute outfit I love how you accessorized it! I’m always the one that is more dressed up than the rest of my friends. I love to try a different look when we go out and it helps me get a bit out of my comfort zone. I feel that when I go out with my friends they alway know the right things to say so I don’t feel uncomfortable with my choice of outfit. Good girlfriends are a confidence booster!

Thank you! My friends and I each have such unique style to each other that it makes it fun whether we’re dressed up or down, but you’re right, good friends know the right thing to say no matter what!! :)
