It’s the third Tuesday of the month, and that can only mean one thing – it’s #MonthlyMani time! This month’s theme is “Animal Instinct” so the Monthly Mani gals and I are channeling our wild sides! (Ha!)
I’ve been really into the color turquoise lately, and spending a lot of time in the water this summer, so I chose an aquatic theme for my manicure. I decided to create some “fish scales” with my nail art pen over an easy green and mint ombre pattern.
Here’s my setup:

As you can see, I gathered all of my materials together – a stamp/sponge for the ombre effect, nail art pen and various tools, and of course my polishes. I started by creating the ombre effect using shimmery green and mint colors, mixing them and then stamping them on my two accent nails. Then I drew the “fish scales” with my nail art pen over the ombre effect. I completed the look with a bright turquoise on the rest of my nails and finished off my manicure with a layer of top coat.

The polishes: shimmery deep green – Julep “Becca” // shimmery mint green – Julep “Manda” // bright turquoise – Julep “Brandis” // blue nail art pen – from Born Pretty Store

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the #MonthlyMani girl gang to see what animal-inspired looks they’re rocking on their nails this month!

July 22, 2015 at 7:33 amThank you! It actually didn’t take me too long for this one; in fact, I’d say it was one of my quicker manicures (which was good since I’m not exactly known for my patience, either)!! ;)
