If you follow me on social media at all, then it is probably no secret that I LOVE Disneyland. I have been to the park nearly every week (if not twice a week) since I got my pass in January – no exaggerating, it is one of my favorite places on the planet. (I have had actually had an annual pass on and off for the past TEN years!!)
So, when I heard that this week’s theme – chosen by Carissa of Carissa Knits – was “Seeing Spots,” I knew I wanted to wear my polka dot skirt to create a Minnie-inspired, Disneyland-going outfit!
The skirt is actually a previous refashion from a fabulous 80’s dress (see the original post here!), which was easily turned into a fun, flirty skirt. The shirt was a birthday gift from Grandma because she knows how much I love Disneyland, and the backpack is one of my original purchases from my first Disneyland annual pass 10 years ago!! And, of course, I had to wear my super comfy walking shoes, my Nike high tops.
The details: Mickey shirt (gift) // polka dot skirt (thrifted, refashion) // Nike high tops (DSW) // Minnie Mouse backpack (Disneyland) // Minnie Mouse bow earrings (gift)
I know Disneyland sometimes gets a bad rap – yes it can be hot, crowded and definitely expensive – but to me, it’s also a place of magic, wonderment and childhood dreams. It’s beyond cheesy, I know, but Disneyland will forever be a place of happy memories and magical fun!
Phew, now that I’ve got that out of my system, let’s check out the rest of the Thrift Style Thursday crew – and new member Alison of Nouveau North Westerners – to see their polka dot looks!
What’s your favorite way to wear polka dots? Okay, tell me truly, are you a Disneyland fan??
As always, thanks for reading!
