Drumroll please, it’s finally time to share my entirely handmade Cinderella inspired outfit!
I know I have been talking about this outfit for a LONG time, from the initial concept and fabrics to the construction and accessories; but, I finished all the little details and finally was able to wear it to my brother’s wedding this weekend.
This past Saturday, my brother married the sweetest, most beautiful woman who, for some reason, agreed to spend the rest of her life with him. (Only kidding, bro, I love you!) The venue was a cool, vintage home in San Pedro, the decorations were handmade and the whole event was so much fun. Plus, check out this super cool paper flower wall that the bride and groom designed and made themselves (with some help from family/friends, of course)!
Now, on to the important part, my outfit! ;)
I found the fabric back in August, came up with the original design of a full skirt and crop top, and slowly got to work sewing and putting it all together (among other projects). I had so much fun coming up with all of the little details and making it exactly what I wanted, with the crop top with the peephole in the back, the box pleats on the skirt and the scallop lace hem.
I also had fun making most of my accessories, including the little silver & crystal buttons I used to make the earrings, the DIY gemstone ring and my silver glitter heels. I also made the bride and groom a little illustration and put it in a pretty frame to go with their gift that Derek and I got them.
I had so much fun at the wedding, kicking off my heels and dancing with my family! It was a great night (even if it was way too hot for “fall”), and one that I’m sure the happy couple will remember for the rest of their lives! Congratulations, Josh and Jessica!
