Holiday Glitz, Winter Glitter | #MonthlyMani

December 15, 2015

With the holidays upon us, the #MonthlyMani gals and I thought a little festive, sparkly cheer would make for the perfect theme.  So here are my winter glitter nails for this month’s “Holiday Glitz” manicure!

I was inspired by winter blues and whites (probably because I was watching the movie White Christmas while painting my nails), so I went with an icicle design in an icy mint color accented with silver and white glitters.  I also painted white snowflakes on the ring fingernail of each hand for some added wintery fun!

The polishes: “Ali” by Julep // “Snow Globe” by Sally Hansen // generic silver glitter (that’s also really old, but still great polish!) // white thin stripe brush by L.A. Colors (from Dollar Tree)

I was really torn for this month’s theme between doing classic red and green nails with just a touch of gold or silver glitter, or even a sparkly metallic accent nail.  But eventually, the white glitter won me over (it’s one of my favorites) and so I decided on the icy mint and my winter glitter nails instead.

I think a big part of me also finds the idea of snow and chilly wintertime activities enchanting because, living in Southern California, it’s “cold” here when it dips below 65 degrees (F).  And while I do love ice skating and visiting the snow in the mountains, I know in reality I’m a big wuss and could probably never handle actually living in a winter climate haha!

Are you a snow bunny or a sun worshiper?  What about nail colors – do you like more traditional colors or is there a specific palette that you are drawn to??

Thanks so much for reading!  :)

Delightfully, Kristi (signature)

PS. Do you like the ornament from the first picture??  It’s a handmade felt ornament that I helped Ruby make; we’ve been busy, crafty little elves lately making ornaments and gifts for her parents!  ;)

Absolutely beautiful! This mani has me yearning for real winter weather haha-it’s been in the 50s-60s and sunny in New York when it’s usually 20s and snowing this time of year. I love that you went for the glittery white manicure. Captures the holiday season perfectly!

Thank you!! I keep seeing pictures on instagram of snowy scenery and people ice skating and such, and then I look at the mountains topped with snow, and I just had to paint my nails to match because I’m missing the snow like crazy this year! I might just have to take a trip up to the snow haha!
