Silver Valentine | #MonthlyMani

February 16, 2016

Hello, friends!  It’s #MonthlyMani time and our theme is “Metallic” – yowza!  I decided to do a fun little Valentine’s Day nail design with a silver metallic base and bright red hearts.  The nail art is simple, but I am really digging the metallic silver manicure.

To create this look, I started with silver metallic polish and then added silver glitter to my ring and index fingers along with large red hearts and smaller red hearts on the rest of the nails.  To make the hearts, I used my dotting tool, starting with two dots which I dragged together forming the hearts.

The metallic silver and silver glitter polishes are from Forever 21 as part of a gift set, and the bright red polish is “Rose” by Julep.

I hope you all had a nice Valentine’s Day (if you celebrate)!  Derek and I went to see Hail, Ceasar! (which I thoroughly enjoyed) on Saturday night and then we had a big family dinner on Sunday.  Derek also surprised me by having chocolate covered strawberries delivered to my work on Sunday morning – they are delicious!

Before I forget, I’d love to share the love, so please check out the rest of the #MonthlyMani crew to see their metallic manicures:

As always, thanks for reading!  :)

Delightfully, Kristi (signature)

Thank you!! It was a fun look for Valentine’s Day, but sadly it didn’t last longer than a couple days. I think that’s the last time I use cheap polish :(

I tried hearts on just my thumb nails and they did not turn out nearly as good as this! Very cute!

Thank you!! It just takes a little practice, I like to practice on paper or another surface before doing my nails :)

Thank you so much!! I really love the red and silver as well – the red hearts really pop! And thank you so much for the compliment to my blog! The layout is a free design from Angie Makes, and the rest is my own design!! :)

Aw, sounds like you had a great Valentine’s Day! I have never tried red and silver together before, but now I obviously have to! The red pops so much on the silver. And the hearts are adorable! Very cute :)

Thanks, Justine!! I had a great V-Day, I always love getting to see my niece and nephews and I felt so festive with my nails haha! I was surprised by the red and silver, too, but it totally works! :)

You did a great job on the hearts! I can’t imagine that’s the easiest thing to do. This mani is so lovely. :)

Thank you!! The hearts take a little bit of practice, some were easy and some came out a little wonky (or bigger) than I intended haha, but still fun! ;)
