6 Workwear Rules to Follow -- Three bloggers sharing their picks for 6 simple workwear rules to amp up your professional style game! | Delightfully Kristi #WorkwearWednesday

Hello, friends!  Justine, Nout and I have a fun new post planned for this week’s Workwear Wednesday – our very own 6 Workwear Rules to Follow!  We decided to put together a little compilation of some basic pieces that can be used as building blocks to create the perfect professional wardrobe for any workplace!

We divided up the “rules,” each tackling two different items – one main piece and one accessory – and then put together an outfit and some helpful suggestions for our rules.  I am showcasing “Elevated Casualwear” (cause we all know casual is what I do best!) and “Statement Jewelry.”

Make sure you head over to Justine’s blog – The Thrifty Girl’s Guide – and Nout’s blog – Sandpaper Kisses – to see what rules and outfits they’re sharing!

For my outfit, I decided to dress up one of my favorite graphic tee’s with a knit pencil skirt, sweater, heeled sandals and a fun statement necklace.  The “casualwear” here is obviously my Mickey Mouse t-shirt, which I elevated quite literally with some heels and of course jazzy accessories and a nice skirt.  The statement necklace works perfectly to dress up the t-shirt, but I kept the rest of my jewelry simple to make sure it was still appropriate for my workplace.

Now, some more about my two rules…

Elevated Casualwear

Statement Jewelry

Statement jewelry is an easy way to add style to your professional wardrobe, and it can be a lot of fun, too!  Not only is it great for dressing up more simple or casual items, but it can add personality and versatility to pieces that you may wear over and over again.  Plus, jewelry can be a much less expensive way to mix those staple pieces up!  I still recommend keeping it simple, however, and picking one statement piece of jewelry with other simpler accessories, especially depending on your work environment.

I hope you found my Workwear tips helpful!  Honestly, “elevated casualwear” is my favorite way to describe my love of finding ways to wear comfy clothes and still look professional haha!  And while I don’t break out the statement jewelry often, it is fun to feel a little extra stylish every now and then!

What are your favorite workwear rules to follow??

Thanks for reading!  :)

This post rocks! You totally and completed “elevated” your adorable shirt with all of the other clothing and accessories, especially that funky necklace (love that)! I know I’ve said it before, too, but those Swedish Hasbeens are so cute and so you! I agree with you, too, that jewelry is a great inexpensive way to add some personality to your work outfits. Excellent job!!!

Thank you, thank you!! My Swedish Hasbeens are my absolute FAVORITE at the moment, and I soooo want several more pairs (too bad they’re so expensive)!! Glad you liked my post, this was a really fun way to collaborate! :)

Absolutely love this look, Kristi! I might have to borrow this! Also…THOSE CLOGS! I have a pair of wooden clogs that I love but Swedish Hasbeens always have the most unique designs and I just love them! I wonder how they fit because I hear they run small and I have wide feet. Anyway, great outfit! <3

Thanks, Nout!! I cannot even tell you how much I love my swedish hasbeens, they are officially my favorite work shoe (and maybe even in general, though I am a tennis shoe girl at heart)! I so want more but they’re just so expensive. I think I hit the holy grail when I found these for under $100 brand new! Anyway, they are super comfy, and the width seems average to me. I have average feet and they’re not too tight at all :)
