A ThredUP Baby Shower Dress | Thrift Style Thursday

June 30, 2016

Hello, fellow thrifters!  Have you thrifted from ThredUP yet??  I have now received two orders, and I have to admit, I might be a bit obsessed!  With my busy schedule these days, I rarely have time to scour thrift stores looking for those perfect thrift scores, but ThredUP means I can browse online or on the app for thrifted goodies from the comfort of the couch (or the breakroom)!  ;)

That’s exactly how I found my latest thrift find, a like-new Gap dress for under $12!  Now, I might have been able to find a similar dress at the thrift store for less, but knowing that ThredUP has such a huge inventory meant I was much more likely to find a dress for my sister’s baby shower than if I hit up all my favorite thrift stores in town.  Oh, and the dress has pockets!!

Since I was busy helping to set everything up and throw the shower, I decided to keep my outfit simple.  Just the dress and wedges (well, actually, I changed into tennis shoes pretty quickly after because there was too much to do haha)!

The details: Gap dress (ThredUP) // tan wedges (DSW)

The Baby Shower

I also thought it would be fun to share some of the photos from the baby shower since we all worked so hard on it!  The theme was a sort of rustic / shabby chic theme with arrows, wood, mason jars and baby’s breath.  We hung bunting and banners, draped the tables with muslin and burlap and made fun chalkboard signs for all the food and drinks.  Check it out!

Your intro is exactly why I love ThredUP too! How convenient is it to browse the “thrift store” wherever you are?! It’s the best, for sure. The dress is super cute and still a great price. And WOW those baby shower details are incredible! Well done :)

Thanks, Justine!! I have become somewhat obsessed with ThredUP and have to limit my time browsing the site because I want everything haha! And thanks so much for your compliments to the shower; we worked hard, but we’ve pretty much become pros at throwing parties at this point! ;)

You’re welcome! There are actually several online secondhand retailers now, but ThredUP is my favorite, and it’s so much easier (in my opinion) than services where it’s user to user sales (like Poshmark, etc.). Thanks so much, we had a ton of fun with the shower!! :)

Thank you, thank you!! We had a ton of fun with the shower and are pretty much party planning pros at this point (I’ve got a big family, so we’ve thrown a bunch of showers, parties, etc. haha)! I think my sister got the idea for the Ready to Pop popcorn favors on Pinterest (where else?!), and she has a friend who makes popcorn and sells it so we get the flavored popcorn for free hee hee! ;)
