Fresh, ripe strawberries; crisp, juicy watermelon; sweet and tart pineapple… Are you hungry for some summer fruit yet?? Our August theme for #MonthlyMani is, you guessed it, Summer Fruit! I love summer fruits and their rich colors are perfect for creating bright, festive nail designs. Here’s my Summer Fruit Nail Art:

And don’t forget to check out Justine from The Thrifty Girl’s Guide and Lyndsey from Dressed in Mascara to see their Summer Fruit inspired #MonthlyMani’s!

For my very simple design, I used a bright pinkish red color and bright yellow for my accent nail as a base coat. Then, I painted a thin green tip on each nail to represent the leaves. For a final touch, I added black “seeds” to the strawberry nails and black stripes and dots on the yellow accent nails to create a pineapple. Now if only I had a pineapple lying around for photos…

If you follow me on instagram, then you know I have been to the Orange County Fair several times this summer. It just ended last weekend, but we made sure to fit in all our favorite events – rodeo, monster trucks and, the best, motorhome demolition derby! – and our favorite foods – cinnamon roll, BBQ meat, deep fried desserts – yum! It also happened to be the perfect place for some summer fruit nail art inspiration!

I did notice that while I was going for a strawberry design on my nails, quite a few people told me they thought they were watermelons… So, perhaps I still need some work on my designs. That being said, this manicure was surprisingly quick and easy to paint, so I think my skills are improving and I’d really like to try some more difficult techniques… Famous last words, right??
Have you tried anything new or fun with your nails lately? What’s your favorite summer fruit that you’d like to put into your own summer fruit nail art??
As always thanks for reading! :)
