Happy Summer Solstice!
Summer is officially here and what better way to celebrate than some festive, sunny summer nail art?! Okay, there are probably several more ways I can think of that I’d love to celebrate the start of summer, but cute nails certainly add to the festive feel! ;)
If you had asked me last week if it felt like summer yet, I definitely would have said no. This week, however, is a different story. Temperatures have been rising in Southern California and it has been awfully hot, especially for June. It feels as though the weather went from “June Gloom” to “Heat Wave” over night! Naturally, I decided pale blue skies and bright yellow suns would make for perfect nail art for our “Here Comes the Sun” June MonthlyMani theme.
I kept my nails simple, going with a pale turquoise color as my base and simple half suns on each ring finger as a fun accent. I used my trusty dotting tool to create the sun’s stripe, painting the half moon on the bottom of the nail with the regular polish brush and helping shape the semi circle with the dotting tool. Summer nail art doesn’t get much easier than that!
Don’t forget to check out The Fashion Huntress to see what sunny nails Melissa is dishing up for our summer nail art theme! What are your favorite hues for when temps start heating up?? I prefer bright colors that stand out, especially on my toenails. Unfortunately, my nail polish doesn’t last long these days with all of the finger painting and hand washing at work! ;)
As always, thanks for reading!
