Spring has been in full effect around here lately – the weather is all over the place, flowers are blooming, birds are chirping (sometimes at 11 o’clock at night, the lovely little twirps), and everyone seems to be as busy as the bees. Which is why I decided to go ultra simple for my April nails and went with very minimal spring nail art. It’s a whole new #MonthlyMani this month!
After the super informative post from guest collaborator Ashley about spring nail art trends, I was inspired to , try out a minimal manicure myself. I also used negative space (that’s an artsy fartsy term for blank spaces) on the bottom half of my nails except for the accent nails. I painted a bright glittery purple on each ring finger inspired by Pantone’s Color of the Year – Ultra Violet.
I really love the juxtaposition (man, I’m pulling out all the SAT words, ha!) of the cool, pastel blue and the ultra glittery warm purple. I’m also now really tempted to try some sort of galaxy nail art… hmmmm….! For now, I am really digging the simplicity of this minimal spring nail art.
It was also really easy to create. I free-handed all of it by painting only the top half of each nail and then cleaning it up with a little nail polish remover. Finally, I used my white polish with the super skinny striping brush to paint the stripes. And, that’s it. See? Minimal. I like it. For the blue, I used “Matilda” by Julep, and “Primrose” by Julep for the glittery purple.
Have you tried any fun minimal nail art? What nail colors are you loving this spring??
As always, thanks for reading! :)
